Inside, you’ll enjoy a contemporary and cosy setting, with character-filled touches like quaint timber boards and Beefeater art hanging up on the walls. If you’re bringing the kids along, our outdoor play area is sure to keep them entertained throughout your visit. On a fine day, there’s no better place across the restaurant than out in our al fresco area. Sunset dining in the summer is truly spectacular. Fun facts. The great-grandfather of George Washington (the first U.S. president) was born in Tring. And the town’s origins can even be traced way back to prehistoric times – when settlements lived in the area. Aside from its rich history, Tring is a jewel in the crown of the great British countryside. You can easily get lost in its beauty on several walks that branch out across the Chilterns. From rambles over the iconic Chiltern ridge to the Little Tring trail, that traces a quiet stream all the way to the Grand Union Canal. The Natural History Museum is a big attraction for visitors – a four-minute drive away from here. Once part of the Rothschild family home, it displays all walks of the natural world. To find out more about the town itself, a six-minute drive away lies a treasure-trove of historical interest at Tring Local History Museum.
